Paper-based examination

Ex 002 is broken down into Part A Multiple choice 44 minutes and Part B Short Written response 40 mins, and finally performing classification for gas and dust time allowed is 3.5 hours. Unit Ex 001 takes around 3 hours to complete.

Competence in this unit requires a degree, diploma or equivalent in a technical subject.

The area classification should be carried out by those who understand the relevance and significance of properties of flammable materials and those who are familiar with the process and the equipment along with safety, electrical, mechanical, and other qualified engineering personnel.

IECEx Certification Ex 002 is an internationally recognised certification.

Obtaining IECEx Certification Ex 002 will allow you to perform classification of hazardous area.
